Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Sorry for being so sappy today, but I couldn't resist showing this video about a little boy named Teddy.

Everyone has a teacher that they'll always remember, and it's not always because he or she was the best teacher they ever had. Most of the time it's the teacher who took the most interest in you or the teacher who pushed you farther than you thought possible. For me, that teacher was Professor Lakatos, my college Accounting professor who made me feel like I could accomplish anything. Who has been your most inspiring teacher and why? What makes a teacher great?

My college political science professor, Dr. Papp made a large difference in my life. In my college days, I was very conservative and Dr. Papp was not. His classes were taught from his point of view. From him, I learned that it is okay to have discussions with people with different views, to respect those views and that it is okay to “agree to disagree.”

A great teacher is one who truly cares about their students and wants to help them succeed and will encourage them to do so

Tee: My most inspiring teachers have to be Mrs. Scott, Mr. Gottfried, and, of course, D-Rocks. All those guys are incredibly nice and have prepared me for the rest of my life! I will always cherish the memories that I've had with them.

Lauren...A great teacher is someone that takes a personal interest in their students. I like teachers that I feel like I can talk to about anything. Mrs. Scott is my most inspiring teacher. She pushes me to do my best in AP but she still allows us to have fun. Her class is super fun and I look forward to going to 4th block everyday. I will remember Mrs. Scott forever!

The best teacher i have ever had is mrs. scott. Even though i always have not been a model student (AKA all the time) she has always been there for me, whether i deserve it or not. In much the same way as a mother, not in a creepy way, i know that there is nothing i can do that will make her dislike me, only be disappointed in me. This makes her one of two people in the world i never want to disappoint, and serves as a massive motivation for me throughout school.

Matt: The most inspiring teacher I have ever had, is Mrs. Scott. When things in my life have come up that have been a bit more difficult than I thought I could handle, she would do everything in her power to make it easier on me. Whether that involved talking to me at length, or just simply listening to me while I droned on about how difficult life had become; she has always been there for me. After having her for over two years, I feel like I've developed a very strong relationship with Mrs. Scott, and for this reason, I know; I will never forget her. For she has left such an impression on my life, to the point, where even if I tried, her influence could never leave me. The world needs more people like her, if there were, I think life would be a lot easier, at least for me.

Destiny saids....When I was in 6th grade I had a teacher named Mr. Gunn. He always played jokes and scared us everyday. He will always help us with anything and always make us feel like we were important to him. I will never forget the things that he done for me and for other people. He is the best teacher I ever had.

A great teacher is someone who cares about their students and strives to meet their needs and answer their questions. I can't point out my most inspiring teacher because all of my teachers have had some sort of influence on me and my decisions.

A great teacher cares for their children. More than that they care enough to take their time away when they know that something is wrong. The greatest teacher I had was Mrs. Duck. She went above her standards for me and my family and continued to care threw the loss of my father.

Kristin says... My most inspiring teacher has been my youth pastor. He's helped me through a lot of tough times, and he's been someone I can talk to about anything. He always pushes me to be better and he'll always be someone I look up to.

Ashley says... The video was cute. A child can influence a teacher to do better and show what life really means. A teacher can help you with so many things. I like my teachers and their here to teach me. I have alot of favorite teachers but my school years are not over yet but I will get back on that. A teacher is caring and would do anything for you. They are here to help and make you work hard for a great life. I will say my freshman year, I have great teachers both semesters!!!

Ernie sayssss... The one teacher that I will always remember is Mr. Gottfried. He tells us to never quit and her dont quit bugging us untill the very last day of school to do all of our work. He is one of the most unforgetable teachers ive ever had.

LaKendra... I don't think that I have ever had a teacher impact me the way that miss Thompson effected Teddy. but I have had some teachers that I feel have truely cared for me and believed that I could go far in life. Having a truely good heart and wanting to bring out the best in students helps to make a good teacher. Believing that every student has the potential to succeed is also very important.

Sheron says…my favorite teacher is Mr. Gardner, he inspired me to become an architect and he always made the class fun. One thing he did that I will always thank him for is pushing me to receive my certification in Auto Cad 2008.

Chris Says… One of my most favorite teachers that I will never forget was Mrs. Godden my 10th grade English teacher. She made class fun and I could talk to her about anything, and the best part was she was retiring that year so we would have her last which made it even better. I think what makes a teacher great is someone who can make class great and who can really communicate with his or her students and care about how they are doing in school and with their school work.

Madi... I don't really have a teacher in High School that really inspires me and is a great teacher. I think a great teacher is someone who is caring and wants kids to do the best they can in that class. I have good teachers and I think I will remember most of my teachers anyways.

Teacher is caring and would do anything for a student. I like all my teacher but having a teacher that is willing to do anything for make school better because then you know that there is somebody that cares for and willing to go out of their way for you.

My favorite and most memorable teacher was my sixth grade teacher Mr. Dade. He was the coolest teacher ever. He let us play games in class and he was pretty chill. I won't ever forget Mr. Dade.

That story was so sad. I actually cried. It was very emotional. I never had a teacher that really care about me. To have a teacher to actually change your life is tremendously great. I just truly love that video.

FAKE!!! Maybe if it was real I would have slightly liked it, but sad stories bug me. If I wanted to watch a sad story I would just look at my own life. I don't think I have any truly influential teachers... I guess I would say my mum, because she homeschooled me until I was in 6th grade. Yeah I'm just going to say my mum.

My most inspiring teacher was Mrs. Etchison. She is a good teacher because she has the best way of teaching. She would push and work with you until she can tell that you really got it down pack. With her being teacher I can truly say that if you failed her class it was because you really didn't oay attention and just didn't want to learn. In her class which was eight grade was the very first time I scored a perfect score on my Math sol.

My favorite teacher is not an educator. My favorite teacher is my father. He taught me to be the man I am becoming today. He taught me to cherish my friends and hold them close to my heart. My father taught me to cherish every moment and rejoice in every victory as well as every failure. My father now lives in South Carolina and I only see him once every two months. Gladly I can say even though I no longer see him as often he continues to teach me. He does so by my memory of his words and applying it to my life.

I rememeber my 6th grade teacher was my favorite. I was a student at West Side Elementary School in Smithfield. I was failing all my classes and after a wile i was transverd in Mr.Johnsons class, he was my Eniglish and Science Teacher. He made learning fun and he also made coming to school easy. He tought us so much such as how to use a check book, manors, and how to look at the good things at life and how we dont have alot of time to waste on the bad things. He was so easy to talk to when you were upset or just needed a friend. I remeber how he would play with us to teach and just to have fun. I cryed so hard on the last day of school and im crying by talking about it because i know i will never have a teacher like that and i wish that all teachers were like him. :..(
