Twister Caught on Camera

Most of you know that I am a weather geek. I enjoy following the weather and in general find it very interesting.

Have you ever seen a tornado up close? Between the Suffolk tornado of three years ago and the events of Saturday, April 16 it seems that we have all experienced or been close to a tornado. Yesterday Chris England of The University of Alabama caught a twister on film. Here is that dramatic video.

What did you think of that video? Was it frightening? Would you have been too scared to have filmed it? Was Mr. Carter brave to film it or just foolhardy? Finally, do you want to see a twister up close and personal?

It was a great video, but I wish the tornado would have been in an open field rather than in the midst of trees. I would like to have seen what it looked like at the ground. I like to think I would also have filmed the tornado, but in reality, I would probably freak out if I saw a tornado that close. I think Mr. Carter was brave to film the tornado, unless he knew it was headed toward his location. If that was the case, I would say he was just plain stupid. I'd like to see a tornado from a small, but safe distance.

I've never seen a tornado up close and I'd rather not see one. Tornados are very terrifying and they can cause a tremendous amount of damage. Mr. Carter was brave to film it. I would've been hiding from the tornado.

Tee: Actually, during Spring Break I saw a tornado forming at Subway. This video is incredibly scary, I would hate to be caught in one of those. I think the guy who filmed it seemed pretty awesome.

Lauren..The April 16th tornado came straight through my front yard. That was the first time that I had ever experienced something like this. Mr. Carter was very brave to film this video. His film seemed extremely close. I think if I would have been him I would have been hiding in a safe place. I hope that I never see a twister again!

When the tornadoes hit last saturday, they literally made a giant crescent all around my house, destroying most of blackwater and antioch while leaving my house untouched. I hope to never see a tornado like this up close, because it is frightening that not only is it incredibly powerful, but that there is nothing you can do except for seek safety and hope for the best.

If I had of seen that twister I would have been scared to death. The guy that filmed it was really brave. I never want to be close to a tornado.

Matt: It would seem that he was just stunned and amazed. To witness the sheer raw power of a tornado would be something both extraordinary, and terrifying. I could never imagine having to stand in front of a tornado.

LaKendra.. It is very cool that he was able to stand outside to video the tornado but he had to be very brave to do it. I never want to be that close to a tornado in my life. If I ever get a chance to get that close I would not dare stand outside to take a picture or video it, I would be running for cover instead!

Madi... I haven't been up close and personal with a tornado in my life, and I hope that I never have to experience anything like that. I think that Mr. Carter was really brave for shooting that video. I don't want to have to see a tornado ever in my life.

Ashley says... I have never seen a Tornado in person and don't plan on it. I hate storms and I'm terrified of Tornados. I wouldnt film the tornado that long like the guy. I would go down to the basement trying to stay safe. I would like to probably see a tornado from a long distance and not be in the path of it. I never want to see one at my house. Mr. Carter was a very brave man to film it. I couldn't do nothing like that!

I've never seen a tornado up close before. I thought the video was really crazy. I would not have wanted to be there when the tornado was there. I would not have filmed it unless I was under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. I think Mr. Carter was pretty brave to film the video. I do not want to see a twister up close and personal because it would be really sketchy.

I thought this video was cool. I liked the tornando but thats most likely cause its on tv. I would be a little scared because tornados can kill, however i would kinda have fun with it because i would feel like the people off the movie Twister. If i had the choice i would want to see a twister up close just to say i saw it close and personal. :)

I have photographed a tornado. Remember the one that hit Suffolk? I took a photo of that. It doesn’t really scare me. I love the power of nature. It can create and it can destroy.

I think that video was very interesting. I never seen a tornado in my life.I would be very terrified to be apart of it. I would have not even known what to do. Some people actually die from Tornado. I would have not firmed that video, instead i would be someone crying and frighted to death.

I think that was really amazing. Yes, it was really frightening. Yes, I really would have been scared and filming that twister would have not crossed my mind. Yes, he was a really brave man for standing outside during all that.

When I was younger I saw a tornado across from my house. I thought the video was AWESOME. It was frightening too, but I like to watch and see things like that. I wouldn't have been to scared to film it. Mr. Carter was very brave to film this. I would love to see another tornado again.

That's a pee your pants moment. If I was that guy I definitely would have filmed it, but I believe I would have crapped my pants. You know the only thing on his mind was: "please go the other way, please go the other way, please go the other way!" Seriously... wet pants galore. So who else thinks this weird whether is signifying the end of the world?
