Up!

Just about everyone of us saw the movie "Up." Did you think you might like to float off in a house one day? Is it really possible to float a house using balloons? This video might leave you thinking otherwise.

Would you like to have been a part of this experiment? How far do you think it might have floated, and was the experiment a success? Happy Tuesday!

I hate to say this, but I am not a big fan of the movie "Up." I took my son, Braydon, to see it when he wasn't quite 2-years-old, and the movie was extremely slow and did not keep his attention at all! That, of course, probably played a huge factor in me not liking the movie. However, I am impressed that someone managed to make "Up" a reality. I've never thought about whether or not it was possible to float a house using balloons, and I wouldn't want my house to be part of any experiment similar to this one. It would definitely be cool, however, to see someone else’s house floating by.

I loved the movie "Up" because it was a cute movie although it did have it's sad part. I wouldn't want my house to float because it's weird and dangerous. I wouldn't want to participate in this experiment because the idea should've been left to the imagination.

Matt: I believe that this would be an incredibly fun project to be a part of. Making a house fly. Simply the phrase itself peaks people's attention, and being a part of it would make it much more magical.

Ernie sayss... The movie up was pretty good. I do believe it is possible to float a house with balloons. I would love to experience the rush of that one day.

Kristin says... Obviously it is possible to float a house using balloons. I'm terrified of heights so i would not like to float off in a house one day. I wouldn't mind being part of an experiment to float a house using balloons someday.

I’ve only seen parts of the movie Up, it couldn’t really hold my attention. I never thought that this soon we would be able to make a house float. I would not have wanted to be a part of the experiment, but maybe watching. I have no clue how far the house probably floated, but hopefully everything was a success.

Lauren...I thought that "Up" was a very cute movie! I had never thought of the idea of actually making a house float. It was a great idea but I would not like to participate. The closest that I would like to come to the experiment would be standing on the ground as the house floats toward the clouds. I think the experiment was very dangerous but creative at the same time.

Sheron says…I think it’s possible, I don’t think it would fly very far due to the fact that helium doesn’t last forever. I do think it went a pretty good distance from where it started though. Probably a mile or two seeing as though it went 10000ft in the air

Tee: Personally, the thought of flying away in a house scares me. However, I do think that it is possible to make a house float away. Especially after I saw this awesome video.

Madi says.... I loved the movie "Up", so yes I would have loved to be a part of the experiment. I would like to float off in a house one day, maybe. It's probably not possible to float off in house using balloons though, because what happens when all the balloons pop? I think it's really cool that they did this experiment!

Ashley says... I did'nt watch the movie up but some of the commericals on it seemed really funny. I think it's cool how they got a house in the air by ballons. I would have never belive it unless I saw it for my self. I'm afraid of heights so I would never want to be up in the air in a house. I think it will be cool to watch someones eslses house in the air but I rather keep my house on the ground! I wouldn't think people would take an animated film to a reality expierment but I guess now you can test new things!

Destiny saids...I dont believe that this house can be picked up by some ballons. To me I like the earth and I like my feet on the groud and I believe that houses should be on the ground NOT in the air. Just saiding what if we did live in the air, would you like it???

Chris says… I have seen the movie UP it’s a good and entertaining movie for everyone. For the experiment that they did with the house and the balloons I probably would want to be the one in the house when the house is in the air. But it would be kind of scary cause the balloons could pop and the house would fall to the ground.

LaKendra says... I never really imagined that someone would actually try to imitate the movie "Up". The fact of people actually pulling this off is unbelievable. It would have been amazing to be apart of this project. I don't think that the house went very far though. Managing to control where the house went and how they got the house to come down was probably very difficult, and I'm interested in knowing how it was done.

Jonathan said... Yeah i would of liked to be part of that expirement. Thats pretty cool making a house float. But i have never seen the movie.

I only ever saw the first five minutes of "Up", during the saddest montage ever. However, i think that this is undoubtedly awesome, and i like to imagine that a gust of wind took it out over the city. Its cool that science is able to make even the most random of things become reality.

Robbie says. I liked that movie it wsa pretty funny. The bird thing was cool and funny. No i would not like to be apart of it because if the ballons pop its a fall of death..

I would have been so scared. I would have done it though, just so the Experiment. I truely don't think it is possibel to float a house on ballons. This would have been funny if the ballons popped. Some things are worth doing, just for the fun of it.

Yes I would like to have been apart of this experiment. I don't think it would have floated too high because the balloons would pop the higher the elevation.

I would have loved to have been apart of this experiment. My only question is was the house furnished like in the film? I did see the film and it is very good; I came out of the theatre feeling like a better person. If I was part of this experiment that house wouldn’t have gone far. Why? I would have furnished the house just like in the movie.

I never saw the movie "Up", but I heard it was really good. I don't think I would want to float off in a house, it would be really cool though. I think it is possible to float a house using balloons. I would have liked to have been apart of this experiment. That would have been really cool to put together.

I would not like to be part of this because; it’s not even an actual house it’s like a storage unit. it floated because it was empty for one and it might have been made of a thin material not sturdy like an actual house. I feel that this experiment was a waste of time.

No, I don't think I would have wanted to have been a part in that experiment. I think it went really far because there was nobodie to stop it at a certain point. Yes, I think it was successful because they got the house to come off the ground.

I'm never going to entrust my well being on helium contained in a sphere of rubber. It may work, but that doesn't make it reliable. Obviously it is possible to fly a house with balloons, unless of course they cheated somehow. I, however, do not see why scientists would fake something like this. It is absolutely and completely comprehensible to float anything with helium, the only problem would be getting enough of it. With the power of human ingenuity and the laws of physics almost anything is possible. I would've loved to take part in that experiment; I wish somebody alerted me of it. The people who say it isn’t real are… mentally challenged to say the least.
