Downing says... Unfortuantely, I beleive that sexism still exists in America. While it appears to be getting better, and I do not beleive that any major employer conedones the practice, it primarily occurs at lower levels such as individuaWalMart stores. This is a major case, with over a million plaintiffs. I do not think that WalMart itself should be punished. If the compnay is fopund guilty, then those females who were paid less than a male counterpart for doing the same job should have the difference in pay made up with a 10 percent penalty addeed to the damage award.

I do believe that WalMart discriminates. Both genders should get equal pay and equal opportunities at raises and promotions. Raises should be based on performance, not on the size of families. If the man worked harder and more efficiently than the single mom, he deserved the raise. I don't think WalMart should be punished, I just believe that they should equal the work place environment.

Tee- No matter what, sexism will exist in America. It sucks, and I wish it could be different, but people will always be more supportive of their own gender. Personally, I have no clue if Walmart is really discriminating against women, but if they are, they should stop doing it and treat them based on their ability to work rather than who they are supporting.

Lauren...I do believe that sexism exists still today in the American corporate world. It still seems as though males are presented with better opportunities in the economoy. However, I do not believe that WalMart discriminates against women. The employeers are paid based on job performance. If the males perform better then they deserve to get paid more. The law case is massive but I do not believe that WalMart should be punished.

I believe that Wal-mart is being sexiest, but I don’t think it is as bad as it used to be back in the 1900’s. Maybe they have more women so they don’t have to give raises. It’s always possible.

Matt: It is true, no matter how upsetting it is, that sexism still exists. No matter how much you change the way of things, people will always feel as though men are the dominant gender. It is simply a belief that goes all the way back to natural instincts. I don't really know whether or not WalMart is sexist or not, but given the evidence, it would seem that there is some air of sexism present.

Madi says... I honestly think that sexism still exists in America today. Women don't get enough credit as males do when it comes to working. Based on the video I think that WalMart discriminates against women. WalMart probably won't do anything to change but I think that if a male employee gets a raise all of a sudden then a women should too.

Yes I do think that sexism is still going on the America. In a way, it does seem that Walmart deicriminates againist women.

Robbie says.. I think its its dumb that they get paid different. I could see it if his part in the job was different but if its the same they should get paid the same. I think its still around because theirs women all over the world gettin treated different then men.

LaKendra... Yes I do believe that there probably is some sexism in corporate America. There is a possibility that Wal-Mart is demonstrating sexism, and because of all the complaints it is probably true. All of those women would not be feeling the same way if it was not at least a little true. If Wal-Mart is found guilty then all of the women who have complained should be given a raise.

Chris says… I think sexism still exists today but I don’t think it’s as bad as it was back in the day. I don’t think it’s happening in Wal-mart if most if their employees are mostly women. I think some women just want more money and will say anything to try and get it.

Kristin says... Sexism does still exist, and it's something that will always be around. Individual WalMarts might be sexist, but that doesn't mean WalMart as a whole is. Just because you believe you are doing a better job and deserve a pay increase or promotion over someone else doesn't mean that you actually do. Men get promotions over women all the time, and women get promotions over men. That's life.

Sheron says…sexism could obviously still exist in America, I don’t see how. But I’d have to say I think most of Wal-mart’s employee’s are women and they say men are getting better pay but the vice president is a women, I don’t think she would let that happen.

Ashley says... Their is still sexism in america today. People think men can do something better than woman and the woman can do things better than men. It will probably always be like that. I think everyone can do anything equal! I can understand men supporting a family but a employer should be paid the same. I think Walmart is being unfair and they should change things. They should be gulity and should pay back the money the woman deserve. The woman have to support families also. Walmart needs to start being an equal comany of woman and men. The punishment to them is probably to give them less money, to whoever is doing it!

Jonathan says... Wal-Mart is stupid, they have a humongous industry of their stores. Why would they do something like that to where they could lose their whole industry and franchise. But then also the people could be lying about it just to get money.

Ernie says............................................. I think Sexist people still exist in America. it is not as bad as it has been in the past years. Soon sexist will be done with.

Cadeja says: Yes, I do believe that sexism still exist in America but not as much as it used to. It still exist some places because some people do not believe that certain things should change such as women’s rights to do certain things. I don’t really think that Wal-Mart itself discriminates against women but if so they should be punished, if found guilty, buy paying the women just as much as they pay the men especially if they have family’s that they have to provide for and they work just as hard as the men do also.

Destiny said...I don't believe that Wal-Mart does that. I love Wal-Mart I think its nice, to me it seems like a family community.

Downing says... I am guilty of a poor job of prrofreading above. Here is my corrected post... Downing says ...Let's try again..Unfortunately, I believe that sexism still exists in America. While it appears to be getting better, and I do not believe that any major employer condones the practice, it primarily occurs at lower levels such as individual Wal-Mart stores. This is a major case, with over a million plaintiffs. I do not think that Wal-Mart itself should be punished. If the company is found guilty, then those females who were paid less than a male counterpart for doing the same job should have the difference in pay made up with a 10 percent penalty added to the damage award.

I don't belive that Wal-Mart would do something like that. I go to Wal-Mart all the time. It doesn't seam like Wal-Mart discriminates against women.

I think walmart is really sexist. They just are sexist. I think they discriminate against women. The owner of walmart should get put in jail.

It might be sexist. I think it is all up to the branch the Wal-Mart is. Sexism may exist at the one in California, but I don’t see it in Franklin. I really do not like Wal-Mart that much. Wal-Mart is responsible for the downfall of America.

Sexism still exist in America because no matter what people are going to stand up for their own gender. Based on the video I think that WalMart is discriminating against women. WalMart should treat them how they should be treated and should all get paid the same amount.

Yes, I think it still exists in corporate America. Yes, I think that walmart discriminates against women. Because in the video the lady said that this man got a raise and she didn't. They tried to use the excuse of that he got a family to care for. I think that was wrong cause thats why most people get a job to care for their family. I think that they get head of walmart.

I think that sexism has a lot to do with people having jobs. I do think that it is not right. Some people are not all that. So to them it may be unfair for them. Most jobs does do that at times.

I don't think WALMART is really sexist, I think the women complaining were just lazy and wanted free money! But then again I don't know the whole story, and the women could have actually be doing a better job than their male counterparts but there isn't a way for them to tell EVERY single story these women have.

This is a stupid claim. A corporation can not be sexist. People in the corporation, yes, but the entire of Wal-Mart cannot be sexist. This is the equivalent of getting mugged and suing the state. POINTLESS...
