One of the funniest movies of all time, it is worth checking out all these years later. It had an all-star cast, including Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Jennifer Grey, Charlie (yes, that guy) and my favorite, Ben Stein as the economics teacher. The most well known scene is the parade scene. After watching, what did you think? Have you seen this movie before? What did you think of it? If this is not the funniest movie of all time, what do you think is?

On a more serious note, thank you for all your hard work this semester. I have enjoyed working with you in CIS and other classes. I hope you have a safe, relaxing and fun summer. Good luck on exams next week.Roland Downinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17250580260612829004noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3236973511099314210.post-39236916395920655032011-06-09T10:35:00.002-04:002011-06-09T10:40:46.293-04:00Here's to the HeroesIt is probably tough being a soldier stationed in a war zone like Iraq or Afghanistan for a year or more. And we know how crazy airplane tickets and fees can be. Now imagine coming home after a long deployments and then being charged a fee to have your bags transported home on Delta or another air carrier! Would it make you angry. Well apparently it did to some soldiers. Their solution, post a video on video complaining about thousands in fees being charged them. Think it got a message across? Watch this. Instead of an assembly, where the candidates present their speeches, those speeches have been recorded and uploaded to YouTube. Undoubtedly, you will be seeing this video many times over the next several days. What do you think of it? Compared to an assembly, is this a better way of presenting the candidates? When will viewing it get old and boring? Do you have a particular favorite candidate? Teachers can not vote. However, I think that they are all good candidates and will do a great job with SGA!Roland Downinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17250580260612829004noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3236973511099314210.post-84868096861238022102011-06-06T08:07:00.004-04:002011-06-06T10:41:03.780-04:00Super HeroSome of you may have heard of the recent heroics of Eddie Peoples, who recently foiled a bank robbery. As this video shows, young teens and younger children are considering that kind of surgery. It seems that several states are actually doing these things or talking about doing them! What do you think of it? Is it fair to hold parents accountable for a student's performance at school? Why or why not? If parents were held accountable in some way would that change your performance in school?Roland Downinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17250580260612829004noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3236973511099314210.post-13468141027546893832011-05-23T10:13:00.003-04:002011-05-23T10:29:20.806-04:00Fit to Stand TrialRemember Jared Loughner? He is the shooter, accused of killing 6 people and injuring many others during Congresswoman Giffords' rally in January. Will he make it to trial? Your leg is amputated, the cancer is removed and the leg is reattached. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well that is very close to what happened to Dugan Smith. But now after about 18 months, he is playing organized baseball and pitching at that! Here is his story.

Should Dugan have been allowed to continue playing organized baseball?
